Birth is messy, transformational, powerful, enlightening, and most of all beautiful. You are stronger than you know, and despite how you may be feeling, you've absolutely got this! I would love to come alongside you to cheer you on, support you, and help give you the birthing experience you've dreamed of.

Juliana Lunde
I'm Juliana, a holistically minded birth doula serving families throughout San Diego County.
I adore living in the way of Jesus with the heart of Jesus, holistic living, snacking, napping, my five pigs (yes, five), my dear husband, and of course birth. I have been passionate about all things birth for as long as I can remember. The amount of birth videos and podcasts I've consumed (simply out of fascination) is too vast to count. I would always say "in a dream life I would be a Doula." At one point I thought to myself, "Wait, this is the only life I have, what's keeping me from living out my dream?"
And thus began the journey of me jumping headfirst into the birth world and I have loved every second of it.
It will never be lost on me that I get to serve mothers and their families and witness a precious new life enter into the world. It truly is an honor and a privilege (sometimes I still pinch myself).
I am passionate about advocating for mothers, being their birth cheerleader, and helping them have a birth they can cherish. My calling to birth work is rooted in a deep reverence for the God-designed beauty of pregnancy, labor, and motherhood.
My role is not to direct your birth, but to steward the space around you — creating an environment of peace, comfort, and empowerment so you can lean into what your body already knows how to do and have a birth that is on your terms.
Whether you're planning a home birth, birth center birth, or hospital birth, I am here to support you with comforting techniques, a steady, reassuring presence from pregnancy through postpartum, providing evidence-based knowledge so you can make informed decisions, and enabling mothers to have the most rewarding birth experience.

What to Know
What exactly does a birth doula do?
A birth doula provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support before, during, and after childbirth. I am not a medical provider — I don't perform clinical tasks. Instead, I focus on your comfort, confidence, and overall well-being, complementing the care you receive from your midwife or OB.
What areas of San Diego do you serve?
I serve families throughout San Diego County, including but not limited to Encinitas, Carlsbad, Oceanside, Del Mar, La Jolla, Pacific Beach, North Park, Hillcrest, Chula Vista, and East County communities. I attend births at homes, birth centers, and hospitals across the region.
When should I hire a doula?
The earlier, the better! Many families reach out during their first or second trimester, which gives us plenty of time to build a relationship and prepare together. However, I welcome inquiries at any stage of pregnancy.
Do you only support natural or unmedicated births?
Absolutely not. I support all births — unmedicated, medicated, planned cesarean, VBAC, and everything in between. Your birth, your choices. My role is to support you in whatever path feels right for you and your baby.
How does my partner fit into the picture?
Your partner is a vital part of your birth team. I don't replace them — I empower them. I help partners feel confident and involved, showing them how to provide comfort measures and support you in the ways you need most.
What is your fee structure?
